Invite a helper to Homent with a link or QR code
Create a family at homent.app, invite with a link or QR, and approve the helper’s phone once. She joins in the Family App as a caregiver — her pickups and to-dos, not your work calendar.
How helpers and family members join
Create a family in the browser at homent.app (no credit card). Invite people with a link or QR code. They install the Family App (iPhone or Android) and join. You approve each new phone or tablet once.
The helper is a caregiver, not a shared login and not “give her the Google account.” She sees her pickups and to-dos. She does not get a dump of work events you left in Google. Privacy model: Google Calendar and helper privacy.
Suggested order
- Create the family as an admin.
- Add the children and elders who will appear on events.
- Invite the other parent.
- Invite the helper. Sit with her while she scans the QR if she is new to app stores.
- Approve her device when it appears.
- Put *her* school runs and shopping to-dos on the board. Keep work in Google.
Store links and tablet setup: app & tablet setup.
What she should see on day one
- Today’s pickups that are hers.
- To-dos that are hers (shopping, not your office packing list).
- Medicine or clinic items only if she is the person who should act on them.
What she should not see: a month of offsites, a spouse’s private calendar, a family group chat she was added to “just in case.” That is the WhatsApp failure mode. Coordinate without another group.
Tablets
A kitchen iPad or Android tablet is a Display, not a second helper login you pass around. Pair it once. Details: idle tablet and Android tablet family board.
If she will not use a phone
Some helpers will. Some elders will not. Paper is the fallback: print a fridge calendar. Do not force a login on someone who will only trust A4.
FAQ
Does the helper need her own phone?
The Family App is built for her own phone. If she will not use one, print the week for the fridge instead.
Do I share my Homent login with the helper?
No. Invite her. She joins as a member. You approve the device once.
iPhone or Android?
Both. Native apps need iOS 15.5+ on Apple. Android is supported for the Family App.
