Family notices, dinner, and helper to-dos without another chat
Put dinner, household notices, and the helper’s shopping to-dos on the Homent board instead of a second WhatsApp group. Pickup status stays on the same surface.
The chat is for talk. The board is for what to do today.
Hong Kong households already have WhatsApp. Using it for dinner, a school circular, shopping, and “have you left?” means the helper hunts, and you chase. Pickup is one failure mode — without WhatsApp. Notices, dinner, and to-dos are the others.
Homent puts those on the same household board as the schedule. You update once. Phones stay in sync. An optional wall tablet in the kitchen is readable across the room. The helper sees *her* to-dos, not a group thread she has to scroll.

What goes on the board
- Dinner — so the kitchen tablet and the phones agree, without a 7pm poll.
- Notices — the circular that used to be a photo in the wrong chat.
- To-dos — shopping and household tasks assigned to a caregiver.
- Pickup — still first-class. Do not demote it back to a message. School pickup status.
What stays in WhatsApp
Anything that is actually a conversation: “can you swap Thursday?”, a photo of a lost jumper, a voice note that is not an assignment. The board is a poor chat. Chat is a poor board.
Elders
A notice on your phone does not help a grandparent in another flat. Print the week they need. Fridge calendar.
Privacy
Do not paste work dinners onto the family board. Do not add the helper to a chat “so she sees everything.” Invite her as a caregiver. QR invite.
