Privacy Policy
Homent (“we”, “us”) provides a shared family board for schedules, pickups, announcements, and household updates at homent.app. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
We collect account details you provide (such as name, email, password or login codes, and family settings), content you and invited members add to your family board (for example events, todos, announcements, and display layouts), and device/pairing information needed to approve wall tablets and keep sessions secure.
We also collect basic technical data required to operate the service, such as IP address, browser or device type, approximate request timing, and security or error logs. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
If you visit homent.app in a browser, or use the Homent or Homent Display mobile apps, we collect limited product analytics through Google Analytics (GA4 / Firebase). This includes page or screen views, device type, and app or browser version, so we can understand usage and improve the product. We do not collect advertising identifiers, do not use this data for ads, and we do not send family board content, names, invite codes, or other household details to Analytics.
If you enable optional Care Sensors, we receive room presence events (someone detected or not), connection status, and—only if you turn on fall alerts for a ceiling-mounted kit—fall-detection signals. Sensors do not capture camera images or audio. We do not collect breath or heart-rate data.
If you connect Google Calendar, we request read-only access (Google OAuth scope calendar.readonly) to Google user data you authorize, including your Google account email (to identify the connection), your calendar list, and calendar event details (such as titles, times, locations, and descriptions) for calendars you choose to import. We use this Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing Google Calendar import and family-board sync features in Homent. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI/ML models. You can disconnect Google Calendar in admin settings at any time; you can also revoke access in your Google Account permissions.
We use personal data to operate and improve Homent, authenticate users, secure devices and invites, provide customer support, send transactional email (such as login codes or password resets), and meet legal obligations. Family data stays scoped to your household workspace; caregivers only see what their invite permissions allow.
We use trusted infrastructure and email providers to host and run the service. They process data only on our instructions to provide or improve Homent. We do not share, transfer, or disclose personal data (including Google user data) to third parties for their own marketing, advertising, or other purposes unrelated to operating Homent.
We retain account and board data while your workspace is active, and for a limited period afterward if needed for security, billing, backups, or legal obligations. Imported Google Calendar event copies follow the same retention rules as other board content until you disconnect Google or delete the related events or workspace. You may also request access, correction, or deletion using the steps below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Homent is intended for household coordination. If children appear on a family board, a parent or guardian should manage the workspace and invites. Contact us if you believe we hold data that should be removed.
Data protection
Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data, including Google user data accessed through Google APIs. We use encryption and access controls to protect your information.
- Encryption in transit: Connections to Homent use HTTPS/TLS so data is protected while moving between your devices and our servers.
- Encryption at rest: Sensitive credentials such as Google OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) before storage in our database. We do not store Google passwords.
- Access controls: Google Calendar data and other personal data are limited to your family workspace. Only authenticated users with appropriate invite or admin permissions can access that workspace. Service access is restricted to personnel and systems needed to operate and support Homent.
- Least privilege for Google: We request only the minimum Google Calendar read-only scope needed for import. When you disconnect Google Calendar, we delete stored OAuth tokens and stop further Google API access for that connection.
How to delete your account and data
Use the path that matches how you use Homent:
- Invited mobile users (caregivers): Ask your family organizer or admin to remove your invite or member access in Homent Admin. After removal, your mobile access and associated invite session end. You can also email hello@homent.app for help.
- Family owners / admins: Sign in on the web, open Admin → My Profile, then choose Delete my account. This permanently deletes your account and the family workspace you own (schedules, members, notices, and display pairings).
- Email request: Send a deletion request to hello@homent.app from the email or contact details linked to your access. Tell us whether you need invite access removed or a full account/workspace deletion. We will respond within a reasonable time.
